freehand :: 2007 - 2011
From my first semester of design principles to my last semester of studio, freehand drawing has always been emphasized. To draw without aid was to view objects in their most basic geometry first and foremost, and the details would follow.
Through various courses, I explored how different media created different results. Focusing on the use of my hand, I learned that every stroke mattered from its angle to its pressure. By studying and observing how various architects use drawing to help their designs, I am now concious of how drawing can help flesh out ideas and concepts.
